The company was established in 1967 with the name of Hoang Mai powder factory. In 1992, the company name was changed to Hanoi Food Processing and Trading Company. Since 2001, it has been a member of the Northern Vietnam Food Corporation (Vinafood 1) and has renamed itself as Hanoi Food and Foodstuff Processing and Trading (or Hanoifood)
In 1989, Hanoifood in concord with the Vietnam food industry company established the Vifon Hanoi joint venture factory, which later was renamed into Hanoi noodle factory.
In 1993, the company built and started operating the Indochina soft drink factory in Hanoi. The Southeast Asia Food complex factory was built in early 2003 and put into operation in early 2004.
In 2009, the company invested in building the Shi-Fu sauce factory in Hanoi
Partnership between Hanoifood and PepsiCo Vietnam: soft drink manufacturing for PepsiCo Vietnam at the Indochina soft drink factory from 1994 to 2003 and at the Southeast Asia food complex factory since 2003.
Since 2006, the company has been transformed into a joint-stock company with the name Hanoi Food Processing and trading joint-stock company (in short Hanoifood) retaining membership in the Northern Vietnam Food Corporation.
